Story 1

Dangerous Accident

A deadly accident occurred, leaving two dead, and many seriously hurt. A chain reaction started on Interstate 790, around 6:45 am when two tractor trailers collided. The accident caused more than just injuries and deaths; but left morning rush hour traffic with hour delays.

The tractor trailer driver came out with no injuries, but two people in vehicles that followed, were killed. Two people were in critical condition and flown by helicopter to Memorial Hospital in Statesville. 20 others had to be sent to the local hospital.

Investigations are still questioning the incident. The police departments preliminary reports explain that the result of the chain reaction came from two tractor trailers that collided, going northbound on Interstate 790. Leaving multiple vehicles to crash into each other. Sgt. Albert Wei, of the police department, concluded that four tractor trailers, and 14 vehicles were involved.

Many ambulances, emergency workers, and fire fighters from near by cities attended the bloody scene to help the injured. Workers from other cities arrived at the scene as well. Tony Sullivan, Fire Chief, described, "In 18 1/2 years he had never seen anything like this."

The incident that occurred not only left many injured, but also left morning rush hour traffic in hours of delay. I-790 was still closed at 10:00 am leaving Interstate 690, on the east side, used for backup. The delay caused a good three extra hours in the morning traffic.

  1. Kaylee, you did really good. A lot of information about the story is provided. Also, each paragraph was very put together and provided many details.

  2. This is pretty well put together, but I see some errors, for instance, it's 6:45 a.m. not am. I also see an unnecessary comma in there but I am far too lazy to write out your sentence.
